CONTACT Crisis Line
For more than 38 years, CONTACT Crisis Line has provided free and confidential telephone crisis intervention services to the Dallas community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. CONTACT's trained volunteers answer more than 36,500 calls per year from callers dealing with anxiety, relationship problems, loneliness, depression and suicide.
Java Metroplex User's Group
The Java™ Metroplex User's Group (JavaMUG), Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, exists to promote the use of Java platforms, APIs, and language; educate users of Java technology through high quality, timely, and applicable presentations; provide a venue for interactive discussions and exchange of ideas relating to the application of Java; and to provide mentoring opportunities among group members.
KickStart
Founded by Chuck Norris in 1990, the KICKSTART Karate Program replaces many missing elements of our students' lives including offering a role model, a figure of authority, a chance to set and reach goals, physical and mental conditioning and very importantly, a feeling of hope for the future and belief in themselves. Specific goals of the program are to encourage students to resolve conflict productively, avoid participating in gangs, choose drug-free lifestyles, and remain in high school until they graduate.
